BEACH

The  place  where  I  feel  most  comfortable  is  a  place  where  I  am  calm. A place that is peaceful in its own ways. It  is  the  place  to  go  to  get away  from  all  my  troubles. It also  the  one  place  where  I  could  sit  forever and  never  get  tired  of  just  staring  into  the  deepest  blue  I  ever  seen. It  is  the place  where  I  can  sit  and  think  the  best. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. It  is  also  the  place  where  my  family  and  I  will  gather  always. The  one  place capable  of  sending  my  senses  into  an overload. This place is the beach.

Last  weekend  on  Sunday, my  family  and  I  went  to  Batu  Ferengghi in Penang  Island. It was one of  the famous beaches. It took about two hours from my hometown. We  went  there  by  my  father’s  brand  new  BMW  car. Before  we  went  there,we  prepared  some  things  to  bring  to the  beach. Those  were  some  delicious  chicken  sandwishes, fried  noodles, chicken  rice  and ‘nasi  lemak’,rice  cooked  with  milk  and some  spicy  gravy  as our meals. We  also  prepared  fresh  seafood  as fish, oyster, prawns  and  crabs  for  barbeque. Then,we  also  took  water, fresh  orange  juice  and  soft  drinks  to quench  thirst  after  we  reached  there. We  brought  mats, beach  ball, canopy, sun  glasses, swimming  attires  and  sun  lotion  to  protect  my  skin  color.

We  moved  at  six  o’clock  in  the  morning  from  my  house  and  reached  at  the  beach  about  eight  o’clock  in the morning. As  I  watched, the  waves  from  the  shore  look  fun  and  almost  innocent  as  they  crest  and  then  crash  over  one  another. I  saw  coconut  trees  were  swaying  according  to  the  wind. I  can  taste  the  salt  in  the  air  and  the  sun  reflects  off  the  water  in  brilliant  colors  of  gold, blue  and  red, just  like  rainbow. The  clear  blue  sky  with  birds  soaring  over  head  searching  for  food  and  once  in  a  while  a  bird  would  get  lucky  and  snatch  a  fish  from  the  water, the  scenery  was  all  laid  out  like  an  exotic  nature  drawing  in  an  art  gallery. Everything  on  Batu  Ferengghi  beach  has  its  own  unique  feel  and  it  has  its  own  way  of  making  us  feel  calm  and  relaxed. The  sun  was  so  warm  against  my  hot  skin, the  salty  air  blowing  on  my  face  feels  wet  and  cool  as  it  passes  by. The beach was crowded with people. Some people were swimming in the sea. Some were relaxing on the beach chairs. The charming young boys were playing beach ball. The  children  were  building  sandcastles  and  also  some   European  girls who  were  in  the  bikini’s   were  taking  sunbath.

Then, my  father  found  a  shady  tree  and  spread  the  mat. My  sister  and  I  helped  mother  by  arranging  all  the  things  that  we  bought  while  my  father  pitched  the  canopy. My  father  and  mother  relaxed  and  watched  the  crowd. A  while  later, my  siblings  and  I  changed  into  swimming  attires. We  did  some  activities  like  my  sister  collected  seashells, my  brother  joined  other  boys  and  played  kites  and  I  builded  sandcastles. It was really awesome. After  an  hour, my  siblings  and  I  swam  in  the  sea. The water was as cold as ice and salty. After  swam  in  the  sea, we  felt  hungry. So,we had some  delicious  food  which  was  cooked  by  my  mother. We relaxed for a while before we do other activities.

Furthermore, we also tried some water sports. I rode banana boat with my siblings. It’s   really excited. So  we  rode  the  banana  boats for   two  times  and  really  enjoyed. We  tried  jet  skiing  with  scared  but  happy  for  the adventure  game. For the first time I tried parasailing. I was really terrified. I  also  wanted  to  try  horse-riding.Unfortunately,the  horse  ran  away  after  seeing  me. The boys at the beach looked me weirdly and laughed at me. I felt shy and ran to my family members. It’s really an unforgettable memory for me.

It  was  almost  6.30  in  the  evening. We gazed at the sunset. The sunset was picturesque. A  while  later, we  realized  that  we  were  late  so  we  packed  our  things  and  drove  home. After  we  reached  home, we  felt  tired  but I  was  in  cloud  nine. It’s really a memorable day. I  hope  to  go  again  maybe  with  friends  or  boyfriend  on  next  holiday.
